tropical Vacations Introduce You to Nature?s Glory

A tropical vacation usually evokes images of images of sultry summer days lounging on the beach and soft breezes caressing you in the evenings while you sip a drink in the evenings. There are so many wonderful tropical vacation packages that give you just that in Mexico, but if you?d like to take it to the next level, consider traveling to the interior as well and experience the full spectrum of nature?s glory. tropical also means exotic plants, gorgeous birds and chattering monkeys, mountain cliffs and amazing wildlife!

Jungle and tropical Rainforest Vacations

Ecotourism is one of the most incredible adventures you can embark on in Mexico and other tropical areas of the world. These eco adventures give you the opportunity to see and hear things you would never be able to experience outside of a zoo or museum. In tropical regions of the world there are jungles and rain forests that shelter an amazing array of plants and animals that are colorful, unique and exotic.

Traveling with an experienced guide through the interior of a rainforest or jungle will bring you into a world where time has stood still for thousands of years. Imagine trekking along a stretch of sandy beach your first day, then heading spending the next few days in a rainforest where brilliantly plumed parrots fly overhead, calling to one another and flashing feathers of emerald, ruby and gold. The chatter of monkeys as they swing overhead will delight your group as your guide explains the delicate balance of Mexico?s ecosystem.

There are coral reefs to explore, natural springs and underwater rivers with stunning rock formations and always the crystalline waters of the Caribbean Sea.

In the evenings you?ll view glorious sunsets from atop majestic Mayan ruins or high natural ridges, all part of the protected heritage of the Mexican people. The warm breezes will sweep away the humidity of your jungle day as you relax with your small group of fellow travelers, suspended in time under a brilliant blanket of stars.

Challenge Yourself in the Tropics

If you?re up to something a bit more physical, tropical vacations offer a vast range of topographies for every activity from mountain biking to scuba diving. The mountains of the Yucatan Peninsula offer extremely challenging mountain biking trails and hiking opportunities for solo or group trekking.

Check out some of the stunning vistas you can see from various mountain locations, including views of several of the largest volcanoes in Mexico like Pico De Orizaba, Iztaccihuatl and the still active Popcateptl (which erupted spectacularly less then ten years ago, causing the evacuation of two villages). Near Mexico City you can visit the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, another spectacular example of early Mayan culture.

If you?re a fan of scuba diving, there?s nothing more exhilarating than a tropical vacation for scuba. Cancun offers a variety of packages for exceptional open water diving and cave or cavern diving. Even experienced scuba divers agree that there?s always something new to discover in the elaborate underwater caverns along the tropical beaches of the Mexican shore.

Did you know that the second largest coral reef in the world, the Great Belize Coral Reef, is in Mexico? This tropical reef system stretches from Playa del Carmen to the Gulf of Hondoras and is a paradise of stunning plants and fish that can be explored by scuba divers and snorkelers alike. Your whole family will be enchanted by the flashes of rainbow color darting through the diamond-clear waters of this vast expanse of one of the world?s most beautiful ecosystems.

Soaking Up the Atmosphere

tropical means warm days, warm nights and plenty of sunshine, and on tropical vacations you expect plenty of both. In Mexico you?ll find them ? the average temperature is 85? in the daytime and in the 70?s at night, with warm rains of short duration only occasionally interrupting the mornings. Warm breezes keep things comfortable year-round and the sunsets are always spectacular!

And tropical means atmosphere?it?s that special combination of warm weather, sandy beaches, exotic locale and that indefinable something extra that comes from the people. The Mexican people are friendly, generous and family oriented. You?ll discover that shops are closed for lunch breaks and that Friday afternoons are made for relaxing.

Don?t be afraid to strike up conversations and make new friends; the mood is relaxed when you take a tropical vacation. There?s no fussy dress code and you?ll never have to put on a necktie or suffer through an evening in stockings and high heels (unless you want to!). Casual is the standard when you?re on a tropical vacation ? even for dinner, you?re fine in a polo shirt and sandals are encouraged. This is a vacation, after all! And kids are welcome everywhere!

It?s a tropical pace that encourages taking full advantage of the simple joys of walking on the beach, sampling fresh seafood, bartering in the local marketplace and sipping a Sea Breeze in the evening with your spouse while the sun goes down over the waves in a blaze of oranges, reds and golds.

The beaches stretch for miles with the finest white sands in the world and new and unusual sea shells washing ashore with every wave that gently laps the shore. Palm trees stir in the breeze, adding the quiet rustle of their leaves to the winds and providing shade for the many hammocks you?ll find strung between them.

Time loses meaning in the Tropics

The sound of pounding surf and the cry of seagulls overhead will lull you into a relaxing sense of peace as you realize there?s nowhere you have to be, nowhere to rush off to, because in tropical Mexico, no one operates by their watches. It?s free and easy, based purely on what you want to do and when you feel like doing it. Doesn?t that sound good for a change?

So for the ultimate in relaxation or adventure, a tropical vacation has it all ? sunsets, warm breezes, natural beauty, adventure, friendship, and incredible, lush beauty. Go somewhere tropical for your next family vacation ? you?ll never want to go anywhere else!

Vacations French Riviera

Written on March 4, 2010 – 10:01 am | by Xtremely Tropical

Vacations - French Riviera
Jay Bauder

The southeast corner of France known as Provence - called the
French Riviera for its maritime area between Toulon and Nice -
is a romantic location with a little bit of everything to offer
the traveler.

Provence stretches from Cap N?gre on the Maures ledge, to Cap
Brun in the Esteral area, and from Cap Roux near Toulon to the
Iles d’Or (the Golden Isles) out in the Mediterranean Sea.
Inland, the area runs as far as the Argens and the Verdon River
to the north.

The region of Provence is so called because it was one of the
first outlying provinces established by the Romans. They called
it “Provincia Romana” and it was one of the jewels of the Roman
Empire. Gradually, over hundreds of years, the word Provincia
changed to Provence. “Provencal” is a dialect still spoken here
by many people.

Remnants of the ancient empire still abound. There is the Pont
duGard aqueduct that towers 160 feet above your head and a Roman
arena still used for bullfights and concerts in Avignon. Arles,
with its famous Roman arena, and Frejus (a city named and built
by Julius Caesar) still has traces of the port where Caesar’s
navy once docked.

Everywhere you go, historical sites abound with majestic stone
castles sitting regally just off the side of country roads, and
you might find the remnants of a pagan temple next to an austere
Catholic church with tall spires and towers that took decades to
build.

The rich and famous flocks to the Riviera every year, much like
the swallows to Capistrano. Walk along the city streets in the
spring, or one of the many bustling open-air fruit and vegetable
markets, and you might just find yourself passing a famous movie
star or fashion model.

Even the names of some of the Riviera’s most famous cities bring
to mind pictures of white sandy beaches, a turquoise sea, and
endless days under a tropical sun — St. Tropez, Monaco, Nice,
Cannes.

Do you enjoy biking and hiking? Swimming? Boating? How about
taking a walking tour along narrow cobblestone streets in tiny
villages that date back to mediaeval times? A romantic river
cruise? Swimming in the Mediterranean Sea? You’ll find all of
this and more in Provence.

And of course, there are numerous opportunities for experiencing
French cooking at its best. Dining in France is almost a
religious experience! When dining at someone’s home, it’s not
unusual for dinner to last three to four hours. If the occasion
is an especially memorable one, dinner can go until two or three
in the morning!

When eating at a French restaurant, it won’t matter if you
choose a four star restaurant, or a tiny sidewalk caf?. Your
experience is sure to be a gastronomic delight for your palette.
And don’t even think of rushing through your meal! Each course
is presented with a certain formality and ceremony that makes
dining a pleasure. And you are always given plenty of time to
savor each course and never made to feel as if you must vacate
your table quickly for the next diners.

The Mediterranean Sea is breathtaking, whether you’re seeing it
from the air for the first time as your plane lands in Nice, or
while walking along the rocky beaches at Cannes. Its colors
change with its moods - turquoise, emerald, and sapphire - and
the water is clear and warm for 6 months of the year. In the
winter, although it’s too cold to swim (except for the most
hardy of souls), the Med’s mood and color matches the steel gray
clouds, and you’ll enjoy the practically deserted beaches and
the bracing wind as you walk along the shore.

You have many choices for lodging in Provence. Stay at a
four-star hotel, and you may find yourself sleeping on crisp
Egyptian cotton sheets, in a bed once used by kings and queens.
There are charming bed and breakfast cottages, where you’ll be
served your meals family-style and learn the history behind the
best places in the area to visit from your hostess. Or choose a
former monastery, where you’ll find peace and tranquility,
staying in small, quiet rooms with thick stone walls and enjoy
walking through outdoor gardens with large fountains where wild
rosemary and thyme grow abundantly.

The people of Provence are friendly and helpful. They won’t mind
if your French is a little rusty, and will go out of their way
to talk to you, and answer your questions.

Each season has its own charms. Spring, when the mimosa trees
are bursting with the delicate yellow blooms, red poppies grow
wild alongside the autoroute and there are fields of tulips to
rival those in Holland.

Summer, when succulent fruits are abundant everywhere, the
leaves of the grapevines become an endless “sea of green” when
viewed from the road, and the Mediterranean sea offers a respite
from the tropical heat.

Fall, when the grapevines are heavy and full with their harvest,
the red, yellow and oranges leaves clothe the trees in splendid
cloaks and community festivals happen almost every weekend.

Winter, when the weather is mild and sunny days are plentiful,
but tourists are not.

Provence is an ideal spot for the perfect vacation at any time
of year. The area is so spectacular that even visitors who are
just “passing through” find it hard to say good-bye.

Scheduling Your Next Romantic Getaway in St. Thomas

If you and your spouse are interested in scheduling a romantic vacation, you may have a difficult time deciding on a location. There are a large number of vacation destinations, throughout the world that are ideal for romantic getaways. If you find yourself having a difficult time narrowing down your vacation to just one destination, you are encouraged to examine St. Thomas.

St. Thomas, located in the Caribbean, is one of the ?hottest,? vacation destinations in the entire world. What may interest you the most is that St. Thomas is well-known for its romantic vacations. For years now, millions of couples have been making their way to St. Thomas to enjoy a private, intimate, and romantic vacation. If you are wondering why St. Thomas is such as wonderful place for romantic getaways, you are encouraged to learn what St. Thomas is all about.

St. Thomas, as previously mentioned, is located in the Caribbean. The Caribbean is known for its wonderful, tropical weather. For many individuals, a tropical climate is the best place to schedule a romantic getaway. To many, romance is about being intimate. The wonderful weather allows you to be intimate on a number of different levels. The tropical weather often means sexy clothing and bathing suits. This alone is enough to generate romance between a couple.

In addition to the weather, St. Thomas is a popular romantic getaway destination because of the many beach resorts that can be found on the island. Many of these resorts are designed for individuals of all ages, but others are designed for adults only. If you are interesting in making St. Thomas your next vacation destination, you may want to consider vacationing at a resort that has an age restriction in place.

Adults only St. Thomas resorts are an ideal way to generate romance while on vacation. In addition to the lack on children on the resort, many resorts do their best to create an exotic or romantic environment. This environment is most often apparent in many hotel rooms. A number of resorts are known to offer rooms with a view of the ocean and in-room hot tubs or Jacuzzis. If you are able to book a stay at one of these resorts, you may never even want to leave your room!

Aside from the romantic rooms, many St. Thomas beach resorts offer onsite activities that are romantic in nature. You may find guided boat tours, guided snorkeling tours, or guided scuba diving tours. In addition to guided water tours, horseback riding along the shoreline is popular in many areas of St. Thomas. Horseback riding is a romantic way to start or end your day. Additional activities may be available; however, it will all depend on the resort in question.

While vacationing in St. Thomas, even if you are staying at a large beach resort, it is likely that you would want to get out and see everything that the island has to offer. In many areas of the world sightseeing is considered boring and sometimes even unromantic. In the Caribbean it is another story. While visiting inland dining restaurants, shopping centers, parks, and famous attractions, you will see that romance is in the air everywhere. This is most often because of the topical climate. The warm and sunny weather makes it ideal to spend your day touring the island. In fact, the weather and the beautiful things you will see has been known to generate romance between a large number of couples.

Whether you decide to vacation at the beach, inland, or take a cruise to the St. Thomas area, you are sure to find an unlimited number of things to do once there. If you plan your vacation the correct way, you will find that many of these things are romantic in nature. Whether you are celebrating new love or reaffirming old love, St. Thomas is the place to make the connection.

19 Landscape

Written on February 28, 2010 – 2:37 pm | by Xtremely Tropical

Lily Pond Landscaping

Before beginning the installation of a garden pond, landscapers first choose the best location. The location is most important because the flowers need to receive the proper amount of sunlight. It is best to have an idea of what type of flowers you want when making this decision.

After deciding where to situate the pond, landscapers can help you determine the depth. It is best to divide your garden pond into several sections of varying depths. This allows for different plants that need different depths in which to properly grow. Much of this is determined by the plant’s size and characteristics.

Choosing the right plants for your garden pond can actually be a little confusing for someone new to this type of gardening. Plants play an important role in controlling the balance of the garden pond, including helping to ward off algae. To get your flowers to bloom their brightest, you want to keep this balance in check. In addition, some plants - such as Lotus and Horsetail - can be dangerous and harm the balance in your garden pond.

Lilies are one of the most popular choices of aquatic plants, and many landscapers recommended them for use in garden ponds. These rarely disappoint their customers. Their attractive leaves and flowers are generally easy to grow and add value to the pond and the landscaping design. There are many different colors, sizes, and styles of lilies available. Your landscapes can help you choose the ones that are best for your needs.

One of the most popular types of lilies among homeowners and landscapers alike are the hardy lilies. Hardy lilies can remain in the pond the entire year and they will return each year with new blooms. They typically bloom from May through September with the flowers opening in the early morning and closing by mid to late afternoon. To encourage these blooms, you should fertilize your lilies with special fertilizer tablets after the stems begin to appear.

tropical lilies are popular among gardeners and landscapers looking for more of a challenge. These lilies require a bit more attention. To keep them around for several years, you will need to bring them inside during the winter. Otherwise, they will die in the winter’s cold. To store your tropical lilies, you simply remove them from your garden pond and place them inside plastic bags. Place them inside your garage or garden shed. In the spring, put them back into your pond and fertilize just as you would with hardy lilies.

tropical lilies enhance the garden pond with colorful blooms that reach above the surface of the water. For them to successfully bloom, however, the water needs to be consistently over 70 degrees. If your zone is colder then this, landscapers can help you choose a heating system. Care must be taken with a heating system, however, to prevent algae from forming.

Over the years, the pond filled with blooming lilies throughout the warm months will bring a special joy to those who are fortunate enough to enjoy this special garden.

Classic Bridal Shower Gifts Not On The Brides Registry

Written on February 26, 2010 – 4:23 am | by Xtremely Tropical

?Classic Bridal Shower Gifts NOT on the Bride’s Registry

Classic gifts are always an easy choice to make when shopping for any occasion. The definition of a classic gift can be very different when relating to different individuals. Buying a classic bridal shower gift is sometimes difficult as the bridal shower gift is typically less expensive and extravagant than the gift you will give as a wedding gift. It is also hard to avoid buying something on the bride’s gift registry. A gift registry is meant more for the actual wedding rather than the bridal shower. This article will give you some ideas for classic bridal gifts that the bride to be probably does not have on her registry. When buying a bridal shower gift it can be simplified by deciding what category of gift you would like to purchase.

Household gifts are a timeless choice when it comes to bridal showers. A laundry basket filled with household cleaners wrapped in cellophane would be a wonderful gift for the bride to be that is moving to her own house for the first time. A similar gift would be a nice wicker basket filled with non-perishable foods that would be handy in case the bride and groom are short on time after the honeymoon. A recipe box with plenty of recipes for every occasion is another great clever, but yet classic, gift for a young couple just beginning their lives together. Bath towels and wash clothes may be on the registry but are still a great gift for most newlyweds. If you want to focus on the bride and want a gift to make her feel special you could get her a gift basket of bubble bath and other great smelling lotions and such. Christmas ornaments are another great classic gift that many people do not realize a newlywed couple would need. How many of celebrated our first Christmas with our new husband with some really beautiful Christmas ornaments? Picture frames are another great classic gift that any newlywed could use. The picture frame could be geared towards the wedding theme or maybe the couples honeymoon trip or even their pet if they have one.

Clothing attire is also a classic choice; it can be just for the bride to be or for both the bride to be and the groom to be. Matching flannel pajamas for the couple would be a fun and yet practical wedding shower gift. Maybe get the bride to be flannel pajamas with the feet in them. If the couple lives in a warmer area of the world maybe you could buy them a gift of extra large beach towels. Beach towels would be a great idea as the couple would more than likely have a use for them on the honeymoon. A nice accompaniment to the beach towels could be a bottle of suntan lotion or sun block for that tropical honeymoon. A nice comfy bath robe would be another classic gift the bride to be would probably not think of for herself. Give her a nice bottle of luxurious bubble bath or bath beads with the robe. Slippers for the couple would be a cute and useful idea as well. Personalize then with monogram of the newlywed’s initials or simply “Mr.” and “Mrs.”

You could also choose to go with a more unique gift. A picnic basket with all the necessary dishes, wine glasses, napkins, checkered picnic blanket and utensils necessary for a romantic picnic would be a wonderful gift. You could get the couple a nice wine chiller with a nice bottle of wine. Board games such as Monopoly or Sorry would be a great classic gift that a newlywed couple would not think to register for.

Buying a bridal shower gift can be very fun and it should be. You do not have to give wash clothes and spoons. Not everyone needs pots and pans; make the gift fun and unique, but you can still keep it classic. Whether you go with a household gift, clothing, or something completely original the bride to be and groom to be will appreciate the effort. If you choose to use the bride’s gift registry maybe you could put your own unique touch the gift by wrapping it uniquely or having it personalized.

La Jolla Beaches

Written on February 23, 2010 – 8:18 pm | by Xtremely Tropical

La Jolla Beaches

From the family beaches that are most often preferred
by tourists to the more secluded coves most desired
by surfers, divers, and swimmers, La Jolla beaches
offer something for everyone. From Blacks Beach to
the north and Windansea Beach to the south, the
La Jolla shoreline consists of steep sandstone
cliffs that are seperated by coves and sandy beaches.

They sunny yet beautiful breezes and picture perfect
views are a vacation paradise for tourists and a
water recreation highlight for locals. There are
seven unique beaches that dot the seven mile
coastline against a backdrop of real estate, resorts,
cliffs, tall palm trees, and lush scenary.

Downtown La Jolla is conveniently located near
most of the beaches which not only provide parking
for beach visitors but plenty of fine restaurants,
intimate cafes, culture, art galleries, and other
types of commercial convenience.

Between mid day and 4 PM, the crowds at any of
the La Jolla beaches can be very big. The best
advice when visiting any of the beaches in La Jolla
is to come to the beach early and stay late - so
that you can enjoy the magic of the sunsets and
dusk views from across the ocean horizons.

Each beach at La Jolla will offer you something
unique with different ways to enjoy the bliss of
your vacation. La Jolla Shores is the most
popular beach for families with the largest
expansion of flat, sandy beaches. If you enjoy
people watching, sunbathing, and lazy days on the
beach - La Jolla Shores is where you want to be.

La Jolla Cove is another excellent beach, with
steep sandstone cliffs offering amazing views and
the paradise of sparkling blue water the cove is
known for. The La Jolla Cove is a swimmer’s dream
come true because of it’s gentle water. Along
with the Children’s Pool, the Cove is rich with
reefs that attract scuba divers and snorkelers to
the abundance of marine life.

There are several La Jolla Caves that were carved
by nature into the sandstone cliffs between La
Jolla Cove and La Jolla Shores that help attract
ocean kayakers from around the world. There is
one cave in particular, known as “Sunny Jim Cave”
that can be entered through a man made tunnel
that leads to a steep descent through a narrow
underground tube to a wooden deck.

With plenty of beaches all along the coastline,
La Jolla is the place to be during the summer
months. La Jolla is a well known tourist attraction,
with well over 7,000 people visiting on a daily
basis. If you enjoy the beach, La Jolla is
going to feel like heaven on earth.

Mexico Cruises Fun In The Sun

Written on February 19, 2010 – 1:48 am | by Xtremely Tropical

Mexico Cruises - Fun in the Sun?
Karen Larsen

Cruises. That word brings visions of sun, fun, food and maybe a hint of decadence. Now consider Mexico cruises… and add in the exotic, tropical, and a sense of the old world.

Mexico cruises come in a variety of shapes, forms and sizes. You can cruise the Pacific side of the country, or the Gulf of Mexico side. You can find cruise that stops at nearly every possible port or only at a select few. Some cruise itineraries may offer an extended stay in port that allows you to explore the countryside.

But are Mexico cruises all fun in the sun? That answer is a qualified yes - as long as you do your homework.

The first thing to do is comparison shop. There are several major and a few small cruise lines that offer Mexico cruises. But, do any of them offer airfare included in the price? How many days and nights are the trips? Where exactly do they go?

Your quest for Mexico cruises will require research. Try http://www.mexico-si.com if you’re booking yourself online. Think ahead, do you need a passport, birth certificate or just a driver’s license? Laws governing this type of question have changed significantly in the last few years, so be sure to understand the ins and outs before leaving home turf.

When you do make port, Mexico cruises generally arrive in the early hours of the morning and leave sometime before midnight. Plan your on-shore adventures early, understanding that it may take a few hours to disembark all the passengers leaving the ship to explore.

If you’ve decided that going ashore is a good idea, you may want to walk on the beach or shop and sightsee. Many Mexico cruises offer special land attractions, like horseback riding, riverboat tours through the jungle and exploration of Mayan pyramids.

Some of the Mexico cruises offer packages that give you more time in port to explore the cities, the culture and the ruins that are testament to Mexico’s rich history. The opportunity to see something left by ancient civilizations definitely gives you something to write home about.

Perhaps you’re more interested in the ship’s amenities. Mexico cruises offer a variety of activities, dependent upon the package and the cruise line. Some activities that you may find are gambling, swimming, dancing, organized games, and lavish Vegas-style shows. Some lines are kid-friendly and offer opportunities for mom and dad to have some time alone.

Of course, don’t forget the food, both on the ship and off. You will have the chance to sample a wide variety of food that is native to Mexico and/or considered haute cuisine. Like most cruises, Mexico cruises offer an abundance of delicious dining. There is one warning….

Watch out for Montezuma’s Revenge. While the ship’s water should be fine, it is a good idea to drink only bottled water, especially when you’re ashore. All water has bacteria, and you don’t want to learn that you’re sensitive to the local strains of bacteria in the middle of your cruise. Be careful and none of your potentially many Mexico cruises will be ruined with an upset tummy. It will be all fun in the sun!
